Will the Republicans give the Presidency to Hillary?

I have for
a long time believed the powers behind the Democratic Party would not
allow Hillary the nomination. Way back a long, long time ago the party
leadership was smart enough not to give the nomination to Teddy. They
knew he just couldn’t be elected even though he was the most popular
Democrat in the party. I really believed that with a 40% negative
rating the party would not allow Hillary to automatically loose the
election to the Republicans. There’s just one thing I didn’t take into
account. The Republicans. Just possibly, the Democratic leadership
knows something I missed.
Surveys
have been done to tell us the negatives on Hillary but no one has
mentioned the negatives on any of the republican nominees. Just as
there are those of us who wouldn’t vote for Hillary under any
circumstances I wonder how many wouldn’t vote for McCain. I for one
could not bring myself to do it and I believe that there may be many
more independents out there that feel the same as I. Would I vote for
Hillary if it’s her against McCain? No. But I would vote for a third
party candidate or not vote at all if that was the choice. In doing so,
could there be a replay of Clinton-Bush-Perot with the vote for Perot
giving the election to Clinton?
I have said
any Republican should be able to beat Hillary. Fact is, I was wrong. I
do believe McCain couldn’t beat her. I’m not sure about Romney.
Giuliani seems to be the only major candidate that doesn’t have the
negative I won’t vote for him under any circumstance element going
against him. Possibly Fred Thompson will develop into a major candidate
in the next few months.
Let’s just
hope the Republicans are smart enough to check the negative polls as
hard as they check the positive ones or they just may walk right into
the Democrats and Hillary’s trap.
