Sean Hannity is a lousy AmericanEarl Kirby, March 14, 2008
In my humble opinion great Americans stand by their principles. They don’t sell out when it becomes necessary to choose between the lesser of two evils. Sean Hannity is greeted by many of his guests on his radio show with, “Sean, you’re a great American” which he then returns in kind without any real knowledge of truth in the statement on his part. But then, that’s just another rant. Fact is Hannity filled his entire show on March 14 with an excusive interview with John McCain. An hour was devoted to allowing McCain to convince the Conservatives of the Republican Party that he was ‘really’ a conservative. During the hour segment 50 minutes was used to go over what Hannity and McCain agreed on and 10 minutes with 3 hard breaks for commercials was used for discussion of what they disagreed on. During the 10 minute session Hannity laughed and joked his way around the disagreements not once seriously questioning any of McCain’s positions, Hannity is widely known for his style of attack interviews. He is proud of his hanitization of opponents. He at no time attacked McCain or any of his positions. I actually thought I was watching a clown of Larry King. Soft ball doesn’t even begin to describe the interview. Hannity claims Obama has been allowed to skate without answering hard questions about his policies and I agree. On the other hand he allowed McCain to skate without having to answer the hard questions. As an example, McCain claims he gets it when it comes to securing the border. Yet he is attempting back room deals in the Senate to create a comprehensive sell out on the issue. McCain understands that he may loose a battle now but the war goes on and he will be back to fight another day. What assurances does he give that he won’t come back and try another attempt at the open borders programs he wants passed? His word? Why with his past record should we accept it? Further it is apparent that Hannity supports the war in Iraq. Ok. I buy that. But when pressed about reasons he always comes back to the fact that Hussein was a bad guy and we did a good thing to dump him. He claims that we are doing good giving the Iraqis a democracy that isn’t a democracy but a republic that they don’t want. And he says this is all good at a cost of 2 to 3 trillion dollars!! That’s American money that could be going to improve America! Giving that money away is not being a ‘great American’. Sorry, Sean Hannity is a lousy American!
